I even looked up some NPCs, areas and mercenaries to learn more about them in actual historical content. The setting and all those historical characters is also so amazing, I really enjoyed that. Ok, at end game the list of viable ones shrinks a bit, but there are still several dozen that can be used in end game PvE, making for a really flexible game. The formations you can create with a main character and 8 mercenaries (out of over 70), 11 different weapon types and 270+ skills, are just amazing. You can use and resell your gear and weapons on the market as you outgrew it, rather than gear being bound to you like in most other games. I also love the crafting, the ability to craft your own skills and gear. For many years, it was really exciting, new content being added, new zones and new mercenaries. I always wondering what could be done to make something like AO and just slap a buy-to-play-micro-cosmetic-model or low-sub-system(5-10 bucks?) on it.Ītlantica had, and still does have, a core number of players who absolutely love the game. This game had so much to offer, I remember sitting in rome for weeks, making spreadsheets to get a better grasp of those PvE battles and gambling on the winner. I mean really, why are there a thousand tab-targetting or tera-action-combat-clones out there, but none like AO ? The setting in the world and the quests were also actually quite fun, visiting different places in the world. The amount of options you got from different mercs (Yes yes, some were super powerful, but I guess it was due to the p2w ascpect). Moving your mercs to avoid a stun and checking if the still got enough Action Points to do stuff afterwards. Why do you guys think noone picks up a combat system like Atlantica Online ? I mean it was quite fun, strategical and rewarding. Im always sitting around thinking back to the good old times when I played AO nonstop.
